ACEH - An expanse of fresh green plants can be seen when entering a 2-hectare field in the Mount Seulawah area, Seulimeum District, Aceh Besar District.

Not vegetables, or herbal plants that are ready for public consumption. Apparently, the green plant is marijuana. The amount is not half-hearted because it covers the area of the field.

Today, Wednesday, June 16, officers from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Aceh Police, Aceh Besar Police, Customs, Satpol PP, and Aceh Besar District Government came to the location.

Officers want to destroy the plant. The head of the National Narcotics Agency, Petrus Reinhard Golose, said that the total marijuana available at the location was approximately 20 thousand sticks weighing about 15 tons.

"The height of the cannabis plant ranges from 30 centimeters to two meters. The two fields are located at two separate points. One point is at an altitude of 424 meters above sea level and the other is at an altitude of 835 meters above sea level," said Petrus Reinhard Golose at the location quoted by Antara, Wednesday night.

The total joint officers deployed to the location are around 220 personnel.

Petrus Reinhard Golose said that the marijuana field was found based on an investigation by the Narcotics Directorate of the Deputy for Eradication of the BNN RI.

"The involvement of various agencies in the extermination is a form of synergy and the state's commitment in implementing the national action plan for the prevention and eradication of drug abuse," said Petrus.

Furthermore, said Petrus Reinhard Golose, the former marijuana fields must be transferred to other productive plants and have economic value.

"To the ranks of BNN, both provincial BNN and regency/city BNN are expected to be able to empower former marijuana planting land for the Grand Design Alternative Development Program, such as diverting cannabis plants to productive plants with economic value," said Petrus Reinhard Golose
