MEDAN - Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, responded to reports that a child had died after being bitten by a dog a few days ago. The boy's parents admitted that they had difficulty getting the anti-rabies vaccine in Medan.

Responding to this, Bobby Nasution reminded all government-owned hospitals and health centers not to carelessly plan drug spending.

"When shopping, you have to look at it, don't just buy it. Finally, the medicines that have been bought are destroyed because they are not used. So it's a waste," said Bobby Nasution, Wednesday, June 16.

According to Bobby Nasution, anti-rabies vaccine should be available in all Puskesmas.

"Our territory is clear, yes, where there are those who keep dogs, for example stray dogs," he continued.

Regarding this incident, Bobby Nasution said that his party plans to provide anti-rabies vaccine to all residents' pets.

"I learned again that we need to have rabies injections. I tried to communicate with veterinarians, the Pet Shop house. We can work together to administer rabies injections to pets," he said.

Previously, Lia, the mother of a boy in Medan with the initials RA (10), who was killed by a neighbor's dog, revealed that it was difficult to find anti-rabies drugs in Medan.

He said that on Friday, June 11, he had taken RA to Adam Malik Hospital, to look for a rabies vaccine. However, the doctor suggested looking for him at the Bestari clinic in Medan Petisah District. But again there is also empty.

"From there, we were told to try to find another clinic, if we know there is one, we look for none," said Lia.

After one day not finding anti-rabies drugs, the next day, again Lia had trouble finding rabies drugs for her child.

"We tried to find the Tuntungan clinic, it was empty, from there we were advised to look at the pharmacy. All pharmacies were empty," he explained.

After many difficulties, Lia finally found the anti-rabies drug at Kimia Farma pharmacy.

"Then after being vaccinated, the effect was getting worse, his memory was getting more and more forgetful, he was dazed. His body was getting weaker," said Lia.
