President Jokowi's Condolences Delivered By Minister Of Youth And Sports Amali During Takziah At Markis Kido Funeral Home

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Zainudin Amali performed a pilgrimage at the house of the late former national badminton player Markis Kido at the funeral home of Grand Wisata Cluster Water Garden, South Tambun, Bekasi, West Java, Wednesday, June 16 morning.

Menpora Amali arrived at the funeral home at around 10.40 WIB and was warmly welcomed by the deceased's family, including Markis Kido's mother, Yul Asteria Zakaria, wife Richa Sari Pawestri, and her two younger siblings, Bona Septano and Pia Zebadiah. Menpora Amali was accompanied by Deputy III of Sports Culture of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Raden Isnanta and Deputy IV of Achievement Improvement, Chandra Bhakti.

On this occasion, Menpora Amali as well as representing President Joko Widodo expressed his condolences for the death of Markis Kido.

"I want to convey my deep condolences from the government and also I want to convey greetings and condolences from the President, Pak Jokowi. He conveys his condolences to the family," said Minister of Youth and Sports Amali at the location.

Menpora Amali recalled the late struggle for the Indonesian people because he succeeded in making the nation proud by winning a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in Beijing, China.

"I think it is an extraordinary achievement. Therefore, once again the government is very grateful for the service of the deceased," he said.

According to Amali, Markis Kido's departure left a deep sorrow for the people of Indonesia. Because, in addition to achieving the deceased is also known as a good figure. Amali also prays that the deceased will be placed in honor by Allah SWT.

"Of course we all testify that the deceased was a good person, I hope the good deeds that have been done during the deceased's life will expand and make the journey in his grave a good one," he hoped.

Menpora Amali also hopes that Markis Kido can be used as an inspiration and can motivate young athletes to continue to be enthusiastic in achieving achievements at the international level.

"So I hope that the spirit of the deceased can motivate our junior athletes as well as those who are now senior elite athletes both in Cipayung and wherever they are," he said.

Meanwhile, representing the family of the late Markis Kido, Joko Suprianto expressed his gratitude for the presence of Menpora Amali and the staff who empathized and came directly to the funeral home and gave encouragement to the bereaved family.

"We, as representatives of Markis Kido's extended family, his wife, beloved mother, thank you again, sir, for the attention and concern from the government, from all parties who have facilitated or eased Kido's steps to his final resting place," he said.
