PAN Asks Anies To Make COVID-19 Vaccine Rules So Residents Can Enter Malls To Tourist Places

JAKARTA - Secretary of the PAN Faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Oman Rohman, suggested DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to make regulations governing the COVID-19 vaccine as a condition for citizens to enter public areas.

The public spaces in question are malls, restaurants, cafes, to tourist attractions. This, said Oman, was done to limit the movement of residents outside their homes when cases were soaring.

"In order to limit the mobility of citizens in the midst of the COVID-19 spike and the emergence of a new variant of COVID-19 in Jakarta, the provincial government should issue a policy that areas such as malls, restaurants, cafes and tourist attractions can only be visited by people who have been vaccinated," said Oman. in his statement, Wednesday, June 16.

Anies Baswedan has indeed issued a regulation extending the period of application of restrictions on micro-scale community activities (PPKM). However, the rules must be added so that the implementation is more effective.

"The extension of the Micro PPKM is good, but renewal steps are needed to address the condition of active COVID-19 cases in DKI Jakarta which is increasing day by day," he said.

Moreover, said Oman, the provision of vaccination requirements for residents who want to do activities outside the home could be one of the factors accelerating the DKI Provincial Government in intensifying vaccination.

This is because President Joko Widodo has given Anies an ambitious target. DKI should be able to vaccinate 7.5 million citizens in August.

"We hope that the target of 7.5 million vaccinations until August in DKI Jakarta can be achieved for the creation of herd immunity so that it will automatically reduce the transmission rate," he said.

Previously, Anies extended the micro PPKM period from June 15 to June 28. This is stated in the Governor's Decree Number 759 of 2021 and the Governor's Instruction Number 39 of 2021.

Anies said that currently DKI has the potential to face the critical phase of COVID-19. The spike in active cases, which has risen significantly in recent weeks, has forced all parties to be more vigilant in preventing the capital city from entering the critical phase after the Eid holiday.

Based on last year's experience, if Jakarta enters the critical phase, the DKI Provincial Government must pull the emergency brake which will have an impact on the economy.

"The capital city is now in a condition that requires extra attention. If the current conditions are out of control, we will enter a critical phase, and if that phase occurs, then we must take drastic steps like what happened in September and February last year. We want that event to happen. not repeated," said Anies.
