JAKARTA - The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan, Nurmala Kartini P. Sjahrir, confirmed the 25 members of the Red and White Flag Raising Force (Paskibra) of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo 2026 who will serve in the 81st Independence Day Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia.
The Paskibra members who were confirmed at the Indonesian House, Tokyo on Saturday (15/8) are students of the Tokyo Indonesian School (SIT) from various levels of education and backgrounds.
The inauguration was opened with the reading of the oath of Indonesian sons/daughters led by Ambassador Kartini and was followed by all Paskibra
"With the grace of God Almighty, today, Saturday, August 15, 2026, I officially inaugurated the Tokyo 2026 Embassy Flag Raising Team. Hopefully, our charitable deeds will be accepted by the Almighty God and useful for the nation and the people," said Ambassador Kartini during the inauguration, launching the statement from the Tokyo Embassy (15/8).
In his message, Ambassador Kartini congratulated the Paskibra members who had passed through the strict selection and training process.
"The preparation that my children do requires discipline training. Although in the implementation it will only be a short time, there will certainly be a valuable experience. How in carrying out this activity we must be disciplined, on time. This is not only a matter of minutes but also seconds," said Ambassador Kartini, who was accompanied by Deputy Ambassador Maria Renata Hutagalung and a number of officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo and teachers from the Tokyo Indonesian School.
"In addition to learning discipline, you must also be able to control emotions and learn tolerance for each other. Follow all directions and commands from the coach. You are a very important part of the celebration of Indonesia's independence for 81 years," said Ambassador Kartini.
"Once again I congratulate you. We are together doing a ceremony with a happy heart. Together we look forward to a new Indonesia, an Indonesia that you will run in the future. Our dream is for Indonesia to be gold in 2045 and you will be part of it," he added.
On this occasion, Ambassador Kartini also expressed her appreciation to the coaches for the coaching and training that had been given to the Paskibra.
The Paskibra team is trained by six TNI Academy cadets from the land, sea, and air branches who are currently studying at the National Defense Academy (NDA) Yokosuka, Japan.
The trainers are, Sergeant Major Taruna I Made Galih Darmawan Taruna NDA S1; Sergeant Major Taruna Aryyo Pangestu Taruna NDA S1; Sergeant Major Taruna Qaydar Manguntara Taruna NDA S1; Sergeant Taruna Fachri Devrianto Taruna NDA S1; Sergeant Taruna Azka Athaya Fakhriansyah Taruna NDA S1; and, Sergeant Taruna (P) Sofyan Najib Indrasta Taruna NDA S1.
The inauguration was also attended by parents who symbolically put kendit on their sons' waists.
One of the members of Pakibra Naura Caeli Maghya admitted that he was proud of this first experience.
"I first became a member of the Tokyo 2026 kbri paskibra. I am in grade 9 smp. The level of difficulty is to be able to be in harmony in every movement with other members. I am really proud to be a member of paskibra. Hopefully Indonesia will become a more developed country, safe and prosperous for its people," said Naura, a 9th grade student at SIT.
