JAKARTA - The Indonesian Forensic and Medico-Legal Doctors Association (PDFMI) has lowered a joint team across disciplines to conduct a thorough examination of the body of the late S alias Sutrimo who was exhumed in Banyumas Regency, Central Java.

The Chairman of PDFMI, Brigjen Pol. Dr. dr. Sumy Hastry Purwanti emphasized that the involvement of various medical experts and laboratories was aimed at ensuring that the entire exhumation process had a strong scientific basis and could be legally accountable.

"In addition to forensic and medical-legal specialists, we have involved experts in forensic laboratories, toxicology, DNA, and anatomical histopathology. We work comprehensively and comprehensively based on the results of medical and laboratory examinations," said Hastry as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 12.

He explained that the forensic team deployed in the process not only focused on the body organs of the deceased, but also conducted an examination of the physical condition of the tomb and the surrounding environment.

"Officers also measured the dimensions of the tomb, observed the type and contour of the soil, and took soil samples in the cemetery area to be tested medically," said Hastry.

According to him, his party has not been able to immediately conclude the results of the examination because the samples taken still have to be analyzed in the laboratory.

"This examination is expected to help explain whether the death is natural or unnatural," said Hastry.

The exhumation process was carried out at the request of investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Polda Metro Jaya in cooperation with the Central Java Police and the Banyumas Police to complete scientific evidence (scientific crime investigation) in handling the case.

Polda Metro Jaya ensured that the exhumation or demolition of the tomb of Sutrimo in Banyumas, Central Java, was carried out according to schedule.

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said the exhumation was carried out at around 10.00 WIB.

"This forensic examination activity is carried out with the full support and technical cooperation of the Central Java Police and Banyumas Police," said Budi.
