Deported From South Sulawesi, 2 Filipino Citizens Hope To Gather With Family Again In Indonesia

MAKASSAR - The Immigration Division of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi), repatriated or deported two Filipino citizens (WN) to their home countries.

Head of the Immigration Division of the South Sulawesi Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, Dodi Karnida, said the two Filipino citizens were deported through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta.

"Both Elina Rey alias Nursima (33) from Kanim Makassar, and Crisanto Madrigal alias Abdullah Javier (41) from Rudenim Makassar have been flown through Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta directly to the Philippines," he said in Makassar as reported by Antara, Sunday, June 13.

He said the deportation was the result of his invitation to the Consul General of the Philippines Manuel C Ayap which was followed up with a visit to Makassar on June 8 and 9, 2021.

The Young Consul of the Consul General of the Philippines who is also the Acting Head of the Philippine Consulate General's Office in Manado, also provided complete documents for the repatriation process while in Makassar.

"I, the entire ranks of the Kanim and Rudenim Makassar, officials of the Consul General and especially Nursima and Ibrahim and their families are certainly happy with the return, because it turns out that there is a direct flight from Jakarta to Manila, although the schedule is uncertain, maybe only once a month, it really depends on necessary situation," he said.

Dodi explained that Nursima had left her homeland for about 20 years because she had migrated to Malaysia, and then married in Gowa with Indonesian migrant workers from Gowa.

He who already has a Gowa identity card (KTP) was secured by Makassar Immigration officers because he was still a Filipino citizen, while working at a gas station on March 26, 2021.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim has spent decades living in Sabah-East Malaysia and married there with a female migrant worker from Raha-Southeast Sulawesi, then lived for several months in Raha until March 2021, before being detained by the Baubau Immigration officer for not having a passport and residence permit.

"The two Filipino citizens hope to return to Indonesia legally. They want to gather with their families. And regarding the refugees, I am currently preparing a report because yesterday there was a Rohingya refugee who was 74 years old and living in Makassar since 2012 and had died of a stroke," he said. also.
