New Application Protects PMI, Presents Emergency Button to E-Wallet

JAKARTA - The Red and White Fighters SuperApps are preparing a special digital application to strengthen the protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) abroad. The application is targeted to be launched in about three months with various features, ranging from an emergency button (SOS Button), digital wallet (e-wallet), remittance services, to legal assistance.

Pejuang Merah Putih SuperApps CEO Ivan Raoul Benedict said the development of this application is a response to various problems that PMI still faces, such as late payment of salaries, violence, work accidents, and legal problems in the placement country.

"We also have law offices in various countries to help legal processes for PMI spread throughout the world. We want to present a healthy ecosystem so that Indonesian human resources are ready to compete in the international arena," said Ivan in his statement, Thursday, July 23.

The application will be equipped with a number of features, including e-wallet, remittance, digital salary, SOS Panic Button, e-job, e-shopping, e-healthy, digital working permit, insurance working payment, legal advice and crisis center, as well as funeral help service.

Ivan explained that the application can be accessed by all PMI, both those with procedural and non-procedural status. According to him, the company deliberately simplifies the registration process so that all migrant workers can gain access to protection services.

"Please download the application. Now almost everyone has a mobile phone, so we want to make access easier for all Indonesian citizens," he said.

Meanwhile, Pejuang Merah Putih SuperApps COO Hazrin Basri explained that the SOS Button feature was designed to speed up the handling of emergency conditions experienced by PMI. Users simply open the application and select the type of incident, such as work accidents, violence, and salary issues.

After the report is sent, the system will automatically forward the notification to the relevant parties, including the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, related government agencies, and emergency contacts that have been connected in the application.

"If there is an accident, the response is certainly different from the complaint about wages. Everything has been adjusted so that the handling is faster and more appropriate," said Hazrin.

In addition, the application also provides an e-wallet service that is tailored to the country where the PMI works. In the initial phase, the payment system will be implemented in Malaysia before being expanded to Taiwan and other destination countries. The service supports the use of Visa and Mastercard cards so that users can transact without carrying cash.

According to Hazrin, the e-wallet service is not only intended for SMEs, but can also be used by all Indonesian citizens abroad and can still be used when returning to Indonesia.

The initial implementation of the application will be focused on the ASEAN region with Malaysia as a priority because it is one of the main destination countries for Indonesian migrant workers. Furthermore, the service will be expanded to Taiwan, China, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and other countries with a large PMI population.

To expand the user's reach, the Red and White Fighters SuperApps will work with the Indonesian Republic Embassy in various placement countries as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that nurture migrant worker communities. Socialization will also be carried out through mass media and social media so that the protection service can be accessed more widely by PMI.
