Gowa DPRD Emphasizes that the Bupati's Mediation Request Does Not Affect the Hak Angket Sub-Committee

GOWA - The Gowa DPRD emphasized that the mediation request submitted by the Regent of Gowa, Sitti Husniah Tanlerang, to the South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi) governor would not affect the process or the results of the special committee (pansus) of the rights of the inquiry, which has now entered the final stage.

Even though the mediation request letter has been received as a copy, the DPRD ensures that all stages of the right to inquiry will continue to run according to the mechanisms regulated by laws and regulations.

Deputy Chairman I of the Gowa DPRD, Hasrul Abdul Rajab, confirmed that the mediation request letter submitted by the Gowa regent to the South Sulawesi governor had also been received by the Gowa DPRD as a transmission.

This certainty was obtained after he checked with the Sulsel Provincial Secretariat and the Gowa DPRD Secretariat.

"I tried to check with the Sulsel Provincial Secretariat through the general bureau, it was true that the letter was received. I also checked with the Gowa DPRD headquarters, yes the letter was also received," he said, Tuesday, July 21.

However, Hasrul revealed that the letter received was not accompanied by an attachment as stated in the document. This condition, according to him, makes the DPRD not yet know in detail the form of mediation requested by the Gowa regent.

"Only after I read it, there was no attachment to the letter. Likewise, the letter that came in the provincial government also had no attachment. I just saw that there was a request for mediation according to the request of the letter, but I also didn't understand what kind of mediation Gowa Regent's mother wanted. Everything is confused," he said.

He emphasized that the Gowa DPRD is basically open to any communication and coordination efforts aimed at maintaining government stability and public interests.

However, he reminded that the ongoing inquiry rights process was the implementation of the constitutional function of the DPRD in overseeing the course of regional government and had mechanisms that had been regulated in laws and regulations.

"If the governor of South Sulawesi takes the initiative to facilitate communication as part of the guidance for the implementation of local government, of course we appreciate this step. However, the mediation forum should not be interpreted as an attempt to stop, intervene, or influence the ongoing right to petition process," he said.

Furthermore, Hasrul again questioned the purpose of the mediation request because there was no supporting document accompanying the letter.

"I and my friends in the DPRD are confused, what mediation does the regent want," said Hasrul.

Even so, he ensured that the Gowa DPRD would fulfill the invitation if the South Sulawesi governor later invited both parties to a meeting. According to him, the presence of the DPRD will still be preceded by discussion through an expanded leadership meeting because it concerns institutional attitudes.

"Our attitude in the DPRD, if there is an invitation from the Provincial Government, yes we will appreciate the invitation of the governor. We will attend but we will discuss this in the expanded leadership meeting first because this is on behalf of the DPRD institution," he added.

On the other hand, Hasrul emphasized that the request for mediation would not affect the process and results of the special committee (pansus) for the Gowa DPRD inquiry rights, which is currently in its final stage.

"The request for mediation by the regent will not affect the work of the panel. We will stick to the results of the stages of the rights inquiry panel that we have carried out," said Hasrul.

He then revealed the agenda that was being carried out by the Pansus ahead of the plenary meeting to submit the final report. "Even today there is an internal meeting of the pansus to finalize the final report that will be read at the plenary meeting tomorrow," he concluded.
