Police Investigate Alleged Misappropriation Of Padang DPRD Pokir Funds

PADANG - Padang Police, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) investigated allegations of misappropriation of principal funds (pokir) of a member of the Padang City DPRD who also serves as chairman of the council.

In a series of investigations, the board member is scheduled for questioning on Friday, June 11. But the person concerned did not come to answer the call.

"The summons was scheduled for yesterday (Thursday, 10/6), but the person concerned asked to be postponed Friday due to an activity. However, until this afternoon, he did not come," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Padang Police Commissioner Rico Fernanda, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 11.

He said that due to the absence of the legislator, his party would schedule a planned recall on Monday, June 14.

"We hope the person concerned is cooperative and fulfills the summons," he said.

Rico said the investigation carried out by the Padang Police Corruption Crime Unit was a follow-up to reports received by the police from the public.

"The report came in about two months ago," said Rico.

His party summoned several parties, including the relevant board members, to process and clarify reports of alleged misappropriation of the poker funds.

"At least so far, we have asked 100 people for information," he explained.

Rico said that his party had not been able to conclude the criminal and other elements in the matter, considering that the investigation process was still ongoing.

Previously, the report that was followed up by the Padang Police was related to the alleged misappropriation of one of the legislators in the Padang DPRD in 2019.

The thought fund is a problem, because the amount received is not what it should be.
