JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung opened the opportunity to rebuild the pedestrian bridge (JPO) on Jalan Kapten Piere Tendean, South Jakarta, using a funding scheme outside the APBD.

This step was chosen so that construction would not be hampered by the budgeting process, which was considered to take time after the JPO was damaged by a truck carrying heavy equipment on Tuesday, July 14, at around 00.30 WIB.

Pramono said the DKI Provincial Government would hold a special meeting next week to discuss the follow-up to the handling of the JPO Tendean which was damaged by being hit by a crane-carrying truck a few days ago.

"For JPO Tendean, because the incident happened yesterday. And I have asked for it to be scheduled next week for a special meeting regarding JPO Tendean," said Pramono in East Jakarta, Thursday, July 16.

According to him, if the construction relies on the APBD, the process will take quite a long time because it must wait for the APBD Change mechanism.

"How is the development? If it is through the budget, it will take a long time. Because for the APBD, it is impossible. It must be in the APBD Perubahan. According to me, it will also take a long time," said Pramono.

Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government is currently studying a number of financing alternatives so that the JPO construction can be realized immediately.

Some of the schemes being considered include through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, strategic cooperation with companies through the naming right scheme, to utilizing the KLB or SP3L mechanism.

"So in principle, it shouldn't take too long to not be built because the place is a strategic place," he said.

In addition to discussing the development scheme, the DKI Provincial Government will also decide on legal steps against the company that owns the truck that hit the JPO. The decision will be discussed in a meeting next week.

"The question yesterday was whether we would sue the company or not, in the meeting I will decide," said Pramono.
