JAKARTA - Minister of Villages and Regional Development Yandri Susanto has not answered whether the location of a number of Red and White Village Cooperatives is appropriate. He chose to wait for a government meeting before delivering further developments.

"Anyway, I was invited to attend the meeting. I will convey the development later," said Yandri at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 15.

Yandri gave this answer when asked whether the placement of village cooperatives in locations that were considered unusual would be discussed in the meeting. When asked again about the accuracy of the point of construction of cooperatives, he only smiled.

"Enough, enough. First meeting," he said.

Yandri said that the Ministry of Villages and Regional Development has so far dealt more with socialization to village heads and village cadres.

His ministry is partnering with 10 village associations so that village governments understand the policies of the Red and White Village Cooperative or KDMP, including the benefits expected for the village community.

According to Yandri, supervision is needed because the implementation of the program uses village funds.

"Because it uses village funds, of course we must control it together so that village welfare can be generated from the Red and White Kopdes," he said.

He said socialization had been running. The Ministry of Villages will also hold a national seminar with 10 village associations on Thursday, July 16.

Yandri claimed that the heads and village cadres understood the program after receiving an explanation. They were also said to be enthusiastic about overseeing its implementation.

However, questions about the accuracy of the location of a number of cooperatives have not been answered. Yandri said a new explanation would be given after the meeting.
