JAKARTA - The joint team of the National Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortas Tipikor) and the Metro Jaya Police will ensure the determination of suspects in three cases of alleged coal, Asabri, and Karakatau Steel corruption.

"We will convey the suspects in this case at the next stage. At this time, the friends of the investigators are still conducting an in-depth investigation. We both respect and give space to the friends of the investigators to complete their tasks comprehensively and completely," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, in a Press Conference, at the Metro Jaya Police, Friday, July 10, 2026.

Budi emphasized that the determination of suspects would not be announced that night. However, this development will be conveyed to the public after the process of deepening the evidence and examination of witnesses is completed.

"Not tonight, but in the near future we will convey the determination of the suspects in the case handled through a joint investigation by the Tipikor Court and the Metro Jaya Police. This is a step in the examination of witnesses," he said.

Until now, investigators have examined 15 witnesses. One of the parties that has attracted public attention has also been questioned, but his status is still as a witness.

"Until now, the person concerned is still in the status of a witness," said Budi.

According to Budi, the investigation process is still running dynamically so that the examination of other witnesses and the next steps of the investigation are still being carried out.
