JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Yuke Yurike, welcomed positively the plan of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung to build 11 new apartment buildings (apartment) in 2027. However, the DPRD reminded the limitations of the regional budget and emphasized that vertical housing development should be carried out evenly throughout Jakarta.

Yuke admitted that until now Commission D had not received details regarding the location and scheme for the construction of the 11 flats. According to him, the certainty of the program needs to be adjusted to the ability of the DKI Jakarta Regional Budget (APBD).

"I welcome what is indeed if the Governor has planned it, he will build several flats, but it is clear how many flats that have been planned, especially those that will be in 2027, we have not received the information because the budget is limited," Yuke told reporters, Wednesday, July 1.

Even so, he ensured that the revitalization program for a number of flats that had been planned would continue. Meanwhile, for the construction of new flats, Yuke estimated that the DKI Provincial Government would utilize assets owned by the local government as well as land managed by the Housing and Settlement Area Service.

Yuke also assessed that the concept of integrated development or mixed-use is still worth considering to maximize the use of land in Jakarta.

"Also, if it is a new construction, it is likely that it will make use of assets in DKI. Or assets that have been owned by the Housing Service or will certainly make use of assets in DKI," said di.

"Is that time a mixed-use, yes, the plan is to have mixed-use, for example, a market on top of it, and then also what it's called like the GOR on top of it and others. Well, this is what we haven't been informed about, like what if the scheme is outside the APBD," he continued.

According to Yuke, the need for apartment buildings is not only concentrated in certain areas. Commission D encourages development to be carried out evenly in five city areas so that it can meet the public's need for affordable housing.

He also emphasized the importance of revitalizing old flats that are no longer habitable. Improvements, he said, need to refer to the concept of a more environmentally friendly building and provide comfort for residents.

"Especially if the flats that are not suitable or maybe what, it must be corrected according to what is now all environmentally friendly, in Jagakarsa, eco-building. Well, that's what we hope can be corrected from the Housing Service, especially for housing-related," he explained.

Previously, in the initial discussion of next year's budget planning, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung revealed that his party would budget 11 new apartment buildings as an effort to expand access to housing for Jakarta residents.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Housing and Settlement Area Service Kelik Indriyanto explained that the flats to be built are spread across North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta.

Among them are Rusun Muara Angke, Marunda Cluster C, Komarudin, Rorotan IX, Cakung KM 2, Tongkol stage III, Marunda Cluster A, Marunda Cluster B, Semper Cakung Drain, Bojong Indah, and Daan Mogot KM 18.

"The target for occupancy of the apartment is the programmed community and the general public, in accordance with Regional Regulation Number 111 of 2024 (concerning the Mechanism for Occupancy of Simple Rental Apartments)," Kelik told reporters.

Kelik said that the scheme for the construction of 11 new flats in the capital was being proposed to the Ministry of Housing and Settlements (PKP).

"The 11 flats are in the process of being proposed to the Ministry of PKP, it is hoped that it can be fully supported through the 3 million house program as a joint portfolio between the central and regional governments," he explained.
