BGN Emphasizes the Narration of MBG Profit Sharing to Prabowo is Hoaks

JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) strongly denies the narrative circulating on social media regarding the allegation of profit sharing of the free nutritious meal program (MBG) to President Prabowo Subianto.

BGN emphasized that the information was not true and was a hoax that had the potential to mislead the public and trigger commotion in the public space.

Head of BGN Nanik S Deyang ensured that the narrative that the former head of BGN accused MBG of sharing profits with the president was never conveyed by the official party of the institution.

According to him, the information circulating does not have a clear basis and is not from the official BGN communication channel.

"I confirm that the circulating narrative is not true. I have never made a statement as stated in the message that is circulating," said Nanik as quoted by Antara, Sunday, June 14.

BGN assesses that the dissemination of information that mentions the names of public officials is often used by certain parties to build provocative narratives and provoke public reactions.

Therefore, the public is asked to be more careful before believing or disseminating information that has not been verified for its truth. According to Nanik, verifying information is an important step to prevent misunderstandings and the spread of false news in the community.

BGN emphasized that all official statements of the institution were only conveyed through the established communication channels.

"The public needs to ensure the accuracy of information through official sources. Don't easily believe or spread information that is unclear in origin because it can cause misunderstanding among the community," said Nanik.

He assessed that the prevalence of unverified information could damage the quality of public discussions and cause unrest in the community. Therefore, the public is expected to be more wise in accepting, checking, and sharing information circulating on social media and chat applications.

"We invite the public to be more wise in using digital media and prioritize information verification. BGN will continue to focus on carrying out its duties and service programs for the public in accordance with the mandate given by the government," said Nanik.
