TANJUNG SELOR - In the midst of demands for accelerated development and improved public service quality, the North Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov) carried out a bureaucratic overhaul through the inauguration of 41 officials of the First High-ranking Position (JPT) and 23 functional officials.

This step is part of efforts to strengthen the capacity of government organizations to be more responsive to community needs and be able to accelerate the implementation of regional development programs.

Kaltara Governor Zainal A. Paliwang emphasized that the rotation and placement of officials were not merely a change of position, but a strategy to ensure that the bureaucracy worked more effectively and produced measurable performance.

Moreover, the current regional development challenges require government officials to work faster, adapt, and be able to build cross-sector collaboration. Therefore, officials who are trusted to occupy strategic positions must be able to translate policies into programs that have a direct impact on the community.

"My hope is that they can work well, serve the community quickly, and be able to synergize with related OPDs to accelerate development and improve the welfare of the people of North Kalimantan," said Governor Zainal, Thursday, June 11.

He assessed that the quality of bureaucracy was one of the important factors in determining the success of development. Government programs, he said, will not run optimally without the support of an apparatus that has integrity, competence, and good execution capabilities.

"This inauguration is a follow-up to the results of the competency or job fit test conducted by the Kaltara Provincial Government through the mechanism," said Zainal.

"The government is trying to place officials according to the capacity and needs of the organization so that they can increase the effectiveness of the regional apparatus," he continued.

Zainal also reminded the public that today demands faster, easier, and transparent services. Therefore, every official is required not only to carry out administrative functions, but also to present innovations that can answer public needs.

"Strengthening bureaucracy is one of the important agendas of the local government to encourage the acceleration of development in various sectors. With a more solid organizational structure and supported by competent aparatus resources, we hope that regional development targets can be achieved more optimally in the coming years," he said.
