JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion reported that as many as 4,700 madrasah supervisors throughout Indonesia will be involved in overseeing the implementation of the Love-Based Curriculum (KBC) which is one of the priority programs of Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar.
"Supervisors are the best people to monitor the quality of madrasah education. Education should produce love, not hatred," said Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday.
As a marker of the start of the movement, the KBC Pocket Book for Madrasah Supervisors was launched. This pocket book has been integrated with the Digital Madrasah Supervision (MDS) as an instrument for supporting and monitoring the implementation of KBC.
The Minister of Religion invites all madrasah supervisors to oversee the implementation of KBC on an ongoing basis. Supervisors have a strategic position in ensuring that character strengthening programs run effectively in educational units.
The Minister of Religion also emphasized that KBC is a development of the concept of ekoteology which emphasizes the harmonious relationship between humans, the universe, and God.
"If all the holy books, including the Quran, are condensed into one word, then that word is love," said the Minister of Religion.
According to him, the implementation of KBC will have a positive impact on the environment of madrasahs and pesantren. He said that the culture of fighting, bullying, physical violence, and various forms of intolerance must continue to be suppressed through the strengthening of education based on the values of love.
Previously, Nasaruddin Umar emphasized the importance of strengthening the curriculum of religious education based on ecotheology which emphasizes the relationship between humans, nature, and God in one whole in a value awareness.
The Minister of Religion explained that the spiritual concept can build a relationship of mutual love between humans and their fellow humans, the universe, and God as an inseparable unity.
"Ecotheology is an awareness that must arise in everyone to love their fellow human beings, love the universe, and at the same time humans and nature also love their God. It's like a love triangle," he said.
