JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin revealed that the President is scheduled to visit the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Krui, West Lampung, in the near future to review the development of health services that are being strengthened by the government.
After meeting the President at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Tuesday (9/6), Budi said he was asked to accompany the visit.
"Tomorrow he is invited to Krui, West Lampung. Do you want to come?" said Budi while joking with reporters.
According to Budi, the hospital that will be visited is a regional hospital that is part of the government's health service strengthening program. The President wants to see firsthand the development of health facilities that have been built and are operational.
He said that some of the hospitals in the program had started serving the community.
"They were asked to attend. There are 20, 12 are already operating," he said.
Apart from reviewing the hospital, Budi said the agenda of the visit was also related to strengthening the treatment of tuberculosis (TB), which is still one of the main health problems in Indonesia.
When asked about the issue of being mentioned in the exchange of candidates for Minister of Finance, Budi did not give a serious response.
"Ah, that's what it says," he replied.
When asked again about the issue, Budi only said that he was currently focusing on carrying out his duties as Minister of Health.
"Now he is still the Minister of Health," he said.
He also dismissed speculation that was developing in a relaxed tone. "Kayanya udah agak lupa deh," said Budi when asked about the issue of changing positions in the cabinet.
On that occasion, Budi also touched on the development of the national pharmaceutical industry. According to him, the export of diabetes drugs from Indonesia has shown a fairly good development.
"Our export of drugs is quite good," he said briefly.
