988 Migrant Workers Have Arrived In Pamekasan

JAKARTA - Acting (Plt) Head of the Investment Agency and One Stop Service and Manpower (DPMPTSP-Naker) Pamekasan Regency Government, East Java Supriyanto stated the number of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) from Pamekasan who returned to the area, until 9 June 2021 this reached 988 people.

"The number of PMIs reached 988 people, including PMIs who arrived today," he said in Pamekasan, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, June 9.

He explained that the number of PMIs from Pamekasan who arrived on Wednesday was 17 people. They arrived in Pamekasan by bus at the Pamekasan Islamic Center building, around 14.00 WIB.

Before being repatriated to Pamekasan, these migrant workers from Pamekasan previously underwent quarantine at the Surabaya Hajj dormitory for two days.

They first recorded the origin of the PMIs, such as addresses of origin, PMI identities and personal documents, such as passports and service companies that dispatched them.

"In Pamekasan they also have to undergo quarantine for three days. For male PMI in the Islamic Center building, while female PMI at Home Stay Astri Pamekasan," said Supriyanto, explaining.

The PMIs will then undergo a medical test from the Pamekasan Regency Government's COVID-19 Task Force. Those who are declared negative will then be allowed to return to their original homes, while those who are positive will undergo isolation at the Pamekasan Hospital.

"But they can go home, if they are picked up by the village head or the village secretary. Otherwise, the officers will not allow it," he explained, explaining.
