JAKARTA - KPK investigators searched the residence of former Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) Silmy Karim who is a suspect in the alleged extortion case in the Immigration Directorate General.
The anti-corruption commission investigators arrived at Silmy's residence, located in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, at 13.46 WIB on Friday.
At least six investigator cars appeared to enter the yard of the house guarded by Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel complete with weapons.

Previously, Silmy Karim along with seven officials in the Immigration environment were detained and named as suspects in the case of alleged extortion of immigration management of foreign nationals.
The KPK suspects that Silmy received money from extortion since he served as the Director General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights from January 2023 to October 2024.
The case occurred during the period of 2022 to 2026.
According to the anti-corruption commission, this alleged extortion case began with the handling of the Foreign Manpower Utilization Plan (RPTKA) of the Ministry of Manpower which has been handled by the KPK since 2025.
