Noel Proven to Squeeze K3 Entrepreneurs and Receive Gratification of IDR 3.4 Billion

JAKARTA - The panel of judges stated that the Deputy Minister of Manpower for the period 2024-2025, Immanuel "Noel" Ebenezer Gerungan, was proven to have extorted the Occupational Safety and Health Service Company (PJK3) and received gratification worth a total of IDR 3.43 billion.

Presiding Judge Nur Sari Baktiana revealed that the money included Rp3 billion in the form of non-technical money from extortion of K3 certificate management at the Ministry of Manpower and Development as well as Rp435 million in the form of gratification received during Noel's tenure as wamenaker.

"The defendant totally received Rp3 billion and Rp435 million," said the Chief Judge in the reading of the verdict at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday, June 4, reported by ANTARA.

In addition to money, the Chief Justice said Noel also received gratification in the form of one unit of a Ducati Scrambler motorcycle from Irvian Bobby Mahendro, while serving as the Minister of Social Affairs.

Member Judge Alfis Setyawan said the gratification in the form of money worth a total of Rp. 435 million by Noel was received from several parties.

The details, as much as Rp30 million from Arsul on October 21, 2024, Rp25 million from the Director of PT Stramanta Dinamika Interkapital Aji Jaya Bintara on November 17, 2024, and Rp50 million from the Commissioner of PT Energi Kita Merah Putih Yohanes Permata on December 15, 2024.

Then, Rp50 million from Yohanes Permata on December 25, 2024, Rp200 million from Raden Muhammad Zidni on February 27, 2025, and Rp80 million from Yeni Marlina on March 22-27, 2025.

In the case of alleged extortion in the management of the Occupational Safety and Health (K3) certificate in the Ministry of Manpower and gratification in the 2024-2025 period, Noel was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison, a fine of Rp. 200 million, a fine of Rp. 90 days in prison, and an additional penalty in the form of payment of compensation of Rp. 3.43 billion, a fine of 1 year in prison.

He was found to have carried out extortion with 10 other defendants in the case, whose charges were read out in a separate trial.

The other 10 defendants are Temurila and Miki Mahfud, Fahrurozi, Subhan, Gerry Aditya Herwanto Putra, Sekarsari Kartika Putri, Anitasari Kusumawati, Supriadi, Irvian Bobby Mahendro Putro, and Hery Sutanto.

In this way, the former Minister of Home Affairs was found guilty of violating Article 12 letter b and Article 12 BjunctoArticle 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law 20 of 2001 jo. Article 20 letter c jo. Article 127 paragraph (1) of the National Criminal Code.
