EMPAT LAWANG - The III Regional Conference (Konferkab) of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Empat Lawang Regency was successfully held. In the highest forum of the regional level journalist organization, Adi Candra was officially elected by acclamation as the Chairman of the PWI of Empat Lawang Regency for the period 2026-2029.

This election which took place in a conducive and democratic manner is a strong proof of the support and trust of members to Adi Candra to lead the largest journalist organization in Empat Lawang for the next three years.

Regional Government Support for Insan Pers

The III Conference of the PWI Empat Lawang in 2026 was opened directly by the Deputy Regent of Empat Lawang, A. Rifai, on Wednesday (3/6/2026). The presence of the number two person in the Empat Lawang Regency shows the great attention of the local government to the press as a strategic partner for development.

In his remarks, Deputy Regent A. Rifai hoped that PWI Empat Lawang would continue to maintain the professionalism, independence, and integrity of journalists.

"The press has an important role in delivering accurate, balanced, and educational information to the public," said A. Rifai.

He added, the Empat Lawang Regency Government hopes that PWI will be solid and able to become a training center to improve the quality and competence of journalists.

"Professional press will be an important partner in supporting regional development and monitoring various government programs for the benefit of the community," he continued.

Adi Candra's commitment: Focus on improving journalist human resources

As the elected Chairman of PWI Empat Lawang, Adi Candra expressed his gratitude and thanks for the great trust given by all members. He emphasized that the new management would focus on three main pillars:

Increasing the capacity of human resources (HR) of journalists. Strengthening the internal organization. Maintaining the dignity of the journalistic profession in Empat Lawang Regency.

"I would like to thank you for this trust. This is not a personal victory, but the victory of all PWI members. In the future, we will work together to build a more solid, professional organization, and be able to make a real contribution to society and the region," said Adi Candra.

He also invited all members to maintain synergy, considering the challenges of the press world in the current digital era are increasingly complex.

South Sumatra PWI directive: Immediately arrange the manager

On the same occasion, the Deputy Chairman of the Regional PWI South Sumatra, Ishak Nasroni, instructed the elected chairman to immediately take tactical steps for the organization after the conference. Adi Candra was asked to immediately prepare a new management structure as preparation for the inauguration.

"After being elected, we ask the new head of the Empat Lawang Regency PWI to immediately organize a complete and solid management structure. In addition, preparations for the inauguration must also be carried out immediately so that the wheels of the organization and work programs can immediately run," said Ishak Nasroni.

The momentum of the III Konferkab has become an important milestone for the PWI Empat Lawang Regency to strengthen the commitment to the journalistic code of ethics in the midst of rapid technological development.
