BGN Office Searched by Kejaksaan After Dadan Hindayana Removed, Dasco: We Hand It Over to Law Enforcement Agencies

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad responded to the news of the search of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) office by the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) after Dadan Hindayana was removed as head of the BGN. Sufmi admitted that he had only heard information about the search from the media and entrusted it to law enforcement officers.

"I haven't heard anything about the arrest, I just heard the news about the search. But whatever it is, we leave it to the law enforcement officers who of course have their own considerations," said Dasco at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 3.

The Chairman of the DPP Harian Gerindra Party explained that Commission IX of the DPR as a partner of BGN had submitted an evaluation of BGN's performance to the government. According to him, the input has been accommodated by the government.

"I think that what Commission IX has conveyed to the government regarding the evaluation of BGN is certainly part of the input, so we think that the input has been accommodated by the government and some notes that then also lead to improvements in governance at BGN," he explained.

"Other issues I also don't delve into because it was immediately sent to the government," added Dasco.

Previously, the Attorney General's Office carried out a search at the BGN office located in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, since Wednesday, June 3, early morning WIB. This was confirmed by the Acting Head of the Attorney General's Legal Information Center, Mochamad Jeffry, to reporters.

"The investigators of the Pidsus (Young Prosecutor for Special Crimes) of the Attorney General's Office have indeed carried out a search at the BGN office," he said.

However, there has been no detailed explanation about the purpose of the search.
