JAKARTA - The Kosgoro Student Movement (Gema Kosgoro) expressed its highest appreciation to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, for the firm decision to remove the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana.

In addition to Dadan, the President also dismissed two other BGN core officials, namely Sony Sondjaya and Lodewick Pusung. As a form of real support for this improvement, Gema Kosgoro sent a wreath to the palace.

Deputy Chairman of the National Leadership Council (DPN) Gema Kosgoro, Agus Syafrudin, emphasized that President Prabowo's policy was very appropriate. According to him, the three former officials must be held accountable for various crucial issues in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program.

"Gema Kosgoro fully supports the President's policy on the removal of the three BGN officials. They must be held accountable for the mismanagement of the Free Nutritious Meal Program, which is actually a noble program, but in its implementation it is tainted with various problems," said Agus in a written statement, Wednesday (3/6/2026).

BGN Governance Issues List: From Poisoning to Anti-Criticism Issues

Agus revealed that weak governance and supervision were the root of the collapse of public confidence in the old BGN management. He highlighted the changes in technical instructions (juknis) that often change until the cases of food poisoning that befall children in a number of areas.

"The most sad thing is the lack of empathy for the victims of food poisoning cases by saying only a certain percentage. In addition, there is an anti-critical attitude towards public input, such as criticism from UGM BEM colleagues," said Agus.

He added that the quality of food in the Free Nutritional Meal Program was sacrificed because BGN did not require the MBG kitchen to have a Certificate of Sanitary Hygiene (SLHS) from the beginning.

Alleged Practice of Selling and Buying MBG Points and Non-Transparent Procurement

Not only a matter of hygiene, Gema Kosgoro also sniffed out irregularities in the MBG kitchen development timeline and alleged practices of buying and selling program points that need to be thoroughly investigated by law enforcement officials.

"Let's review. The MBG registration portal was closed in November 2025. But how can a new MBG kitchen construction appear in May 2026? While the construction period is limited to 45 days. When was the registration carried out? Things like this must be explained openly to the public," said Agus.

Furthermore, he expressed his disappointment with the procurement process for goods and services in the BGN environment, which was considered not transparent, arbitrary, and potentially causing losses to the state.

Some of the procurement that was highlighted sharply include:

Procurement of socks and spoons. Procurement of electric motor units. Halal certification and public opinion management. Procurement of online meetings (online) to the development of BGN internal applications.

Momentum Evaluation of the National Strategic Program

Gema Kosgoro hopes that the momentum of the change of BGN officials will be a turning point to conduct a thorough audit and improve the governance of the MBG program so that it can return to its noble purpose.

"The MBG program is an excellent strategic program that touches the needs of the people. Therefore, its management must be carried out by people who are professional, open to criticism, and have a strong commitment to safety and quality of service to the community," concluded Agus.
