Amblas Road Improvement, Lenteng Agung Access to Depok Closed Until Tuesday Morning

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has temporarily closed the Lenteng Agung Raya Road in the south or towards Depok starting Monday, June 1 at 15.00 WIB until Tuesday, June 2 at 05.00 WIB. The closure is carried out to support the repair of the underground channel which is suspected to be the cause of the collapse of the road in the area.

Emergency handling was carried out after the road damage on Lenteng Agung Raya Road caused two lanes to be unable to be crossed by vehicles and triggered long traffic jams in recent days.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office Budi Awaluddin said that the temporary closure was necessary so that the repair work by the Water Resources Office (SDA) could run optimally.

"We apologize for the temporary closure of Lenteng Agung Road in the south or towards Depok starting today, Monday, June 1, 2026 at 14.00 WIB until Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 05.00 WIB. The closure is carried out to support the repair of underground channels by the Water Resources Office," said Budi at the location, Monday, June 1.

During the work, vehicles from Pasar Minggu to Depok were diverted through Lenteng Agung Highway, then turned back (North-North) at the JPL 23 train crossing or the Pancasila University roundabout, then continued on through Moch. Kahfi II Street, Tanah Baru Street, and so on to their respective destinations.

Another alternative, motorists can turn back at the front horseshoe roundabout of the Jakarta Institute of Social and Political Sciences (IISIP). From this location, vehicles are directed across Lenteng Agung Highway, TB Simatupang Road, Kebagusan Raya Road or Cilandak KKO Highway, then towards Moh. Kahfi I Road and so on

Road users can also use other routes through Jalan TB Simatupang, Jalan Raya Bogor, Jalan Akses Universitas Indonesia (UI), and so on to Depok and its surroundings.

Meanwhile, heavy-tonnage vehicles from Tanjung Barat to Depok are directed through the Jagorawi Toll Road or the Depok-Antasari Toll Road (Desari). Another alternative is through TB Simatupang Road, Bogor Highway, Access Road to the University of Indonesia (UI), and so on.

DKI's Dishub also placed officers at a number of strategic points to help manage traffic and direct drivers to diversion routes that have been prepared.

"We have alerted officers around the location to guide residents to alternative routes. We also urge the public to follow the instructions of officers in the field for the sake of safety," said Budi.

To expand information to the public, DKI Dishub has installed seven notification banners at a number of strategic points. Five banners were installed in the corridor leading to Depok and two others were installed in the Lenteng Agung area so that road users know about the closure of the road early and can adjust the route.

The DKI Provincial Government ensures that repairs are carried out intensively so that the main access to Jakarta-Depok can return to normal operation. The public is urged to arrange travel time, use alternative routes that have been prepared, and prioritize safety when passing around the work site.
