Pancasila Birthday 2026: KPI Chairman invites collaboration to strengthen the National Broadcasting Ecosystem

JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) Center, Ubaidillah, attended the 2026 National Pancasila Birthday Commemoration Ceremony held in a solemn manner at the Pancasila Building Square, Jakarta, Monday (1/6/2026).

The sacred ceremony was attended directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the Vice President, as well as the cabinet of ministries and heads of state institutions.

Carrying the official theme of Pancasila Birthday 2026, namely "Pancasila Unites the Nation, the Foundation of World Peace", Ubaidillah emphasized that this momentum must be a catalyst for the national broadcasting industry. Broadcasting institutions are required to strengthen their role in internalizing the noble values of the basic state.

Crucial Role of TV and Radio in Instilling Pancasila

After attending the ceremony, Ubaidillah said that in line with this year's theme, broadcasting institutions have a great responsibility. Television and radio must maintain the public frequency to continue to broadcast content that unites the nation in the midst of diversity.

"Pancasila as a unifying nation must be the spirit of every broadcast product enjoyed by the public, from Sabang to Merauke. This is where the crucial role of broadcasting is, namely, embodying Pancasila values into the Indonesian family space through educational and inspiring broadcasts," said Ubaidillah at the Pancasila Building, Jakarta.

Furthermore, the Chairman of the Central KPI highlighted that this noble mission is now faced with an industry challenge that is not easy. In the midst of the era of digital disruption and media shifts, the national broadcasting industry requires impartiality and concrete support from all parties to strengthen its ecosystem.

Ubaidillah emphasized that strengthening a healthy and character-based broadcasting ecosystem cannot be imposed on broadcasting institutions alone. A comprehensive collaboration is needed involving three important elements:

Government and Regulators: Present with regulations that are adaptive, protective of the local industry, and fair to all media actors.

Broadcasting (Television and Radio): Consistently producing high-quality content that upholds ethics, without being trapped solely by the flow of commercialism or ratings.

Wide Community: Develop good media literacy so that they become critical audiences and actively choose healthy broadcasts.

"We must not allow the broadcasting industry to fight alone against this storm of disruption. The strengthening of the broadcasting ecosystem must be supported by all parties so that our broadcasting media remains strong as a fortress of culture and national identity," he said.

Closing his statement to the media, the Head of the Central KPI invited all people in the country to make the 2026 Pancasila Birthday Anniversary a moment of reflection and real action.

"Let's together keep our broadcasts to uphold the values of Pancasila in every corner of Indonesia. With a strong ecosystem and healthy broadcasts, we realize a national broadcasting that is able to unite the nation while giving a message of peace to the world.
