JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) revealed that at least five cases were identified as fraud in the sale and purchase of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program with a loss of hundreds of millions of rupiah.
Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sonjaya said BGN in cooperation with the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Polri) continues to investigate the fraud case because the number of victims is estimated to be more and has not reported.
"One case handled by the West Java Police, the suspect has been arrested, then in the Criminal Investigation Unit there is also one case and it is likely to develop into several cases," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 26.
Sony stated that the SPPG point fraud case also occurred in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Today, Sony also received an audience from 23 participants in the demonstration at the BGN office who claimed to be victims of the SPPG point fraud, which originated from Bandung and Sumedang, West Java.
The Deputy Head of BGN explained that the modus operandi used by the perpetrators was to offer SPPG point management services by claiming to have connections in the BGN environment. They then promised to issue SPPG identity or ID to prospective partners by asking for a certain amount of money.
"Usually he offers services, do you want to register? I already have a channel (acquaintance) at BGN, after that, the SPPG ID (fake) comes out. The value of the money requested in this practice ranges from Rp. 50-200 million," he said.
Sony also admitted that it had collected a number of evidence of transfers and was investigating the alleged involvement of certain parties and organizations in the practice.
BGN emphasized that the process of submitting SPPG points is carried out entirely online and is free of charge. In the official mechanism, the submission is made through an online system, then verified by the central committee and continued by field survey by officers.
Kaena itu, masyarakat diminta waspada terhadap pihak-pihak yang menawarkan jasa pengurusan titik SPPG berbayar maupun menjanjikan percepatan proses menggunakan jalur tertentu.
BGN also encourages victims of fraud to immediately report to the police if there are criminal elements in the practice.
Previously, the Head of the MBG Task Force (Satgas) of the National Police, Inspector General Nurworo Danang, said that his party fully supported the process of enforcing the law against parties who misused the MBG program to take personal advantage by violating the law.
"There have been several reports of complaints that have been handled in several police," he said.
The two-star police general also appealed to the public to report to the police if they found violations or deviations in the MBG program, including the sale and purchase of SPPG points.
"Immediately reported to the local law enforcement, whether it is the local police or the police who will later be followed up and will be investigated in accordance with existing regulations," he said.
One of the alleged fraud in the name of the MBG program was carried out by a woman from the Pondok Permata Housing, Babelan Regency, Bekasi, West Java.
The victim who was deceived is reported to have deposited a sum of money worth tens of millions. The modus operandi of the perpetrator is to lure by opening SPPG with a profit that is many times greater.
