JAKARTA - The Central Lombok District Attorney's Office, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) visited the State Property and Auction Office (KPKNL) Denpasar, Bali in order to pursue the property of the convicted person in the corruption case of the construction of Lombok International Airport.

"This is our effort to recover state losses due to criminal acts of corruption. Not only stopping at the prosecution and imprisonment of perpetrators, we continue to hunt for assets from corruption crimes to outside the region, including to Denpasar, Bali," said Head of the Evidence and Seizure Management Section (Kasi PAPBB) Central Lombok District Attorney Terry Endro Arie Wibowo quoted by Antara.

He said the arrival of the prosecutor's team to KPKNL was in order to accelerate the auction process for three high-value property assets owned by convicted corruptor Ir. Nyoman Suwarjana.

The convict is known to have been involved in the Lombok International Airport (BIL) construction corruption case which caused state losses of IDR 39,901,925,278.02 or almost IDR 40 billion.

"The three assets that will be auctioned soon are in strategic locations in Denpasar City, Bali, namely two plots of land and a shop house (ruko) building in the Jalan Kartini commercial area as well as a luxury house in the Jalan Gatot Subroto area," he said.

He said all of these assets had previously been confiscated by the state as part of efforts to recover state financial losses.

"Law enforcement in corruption cases does not stop when the perpetrator has been sentenced to imprisonment," he said.

According to him, the return of state losses through tracking and confiscation of assets is an important part of efforts to eradicate corruption.

"The case of corruption in the construction of Lombok Airport was handled directly by the Attorney General's Office. Now the Lombok Tengah District Attorney's Office ensures that the state must recover its rights through the process of expropriation and auction of assets resulting from criminal acts of corruption," he said.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Central Lombok District Attorney's Office, Alfa Dera, emphasized that the success of handling corruption cases requires synergy and cross-sectoral collaboration within the Prosecutor's Office.

According to Alfa Dera, in accordance with the direction of the Head of the Central Lombok District Attorney's Office, all ranks are asked to work as hard as possible and support each other in order to bring about law enforcement that provides real benefits for the community and the country.

"Later, all proceeds from the auction of the three properties will be fully deposited into the state treasury as part of the recovery of state losses due to corruption in the construction of Lombok International Airport," he said.
