JAKARTA - The Tamansari Metro Police has clarified viral information circulating on social media regarding the alleged robbery at a laundry outlet in the Jalan Kebon Jeruk area, Maphar Village, Tamansari District, West Jakarta.

Tamansari Metro Police Chief Bobby M. Zulfikar explained that the incident began on Monday evening (18/5/2026) at around 18.15 WIB when the victim with the initials CW (76), the owner of the laundry business, was about to close his shop.

At that time, the perpetrator with the initials JA came who asked for his dirty clothes to be accepted for washing. Although the operation was completed, the victim finally agreed to help the perpetrator.

However, when the victim turned around to weigh the clothes, the perpetrator suddenly beat him with his bare hands in a row until the victim fell and suffered a head injury.

The victim's screams immediately attracted the attention of the surrounding residents. The perpetrator, who had fled, was finally secured thanks to the alertness of the residents along with the Metro Tamansari Police Buser Team.

The police chief said that from the results of the examination and investigation, no valuables belonging to the victim were found missing or seized by the perpetrator.

The victim suffered a laceration on the right head and bruises. The victim received medical treatment at Tarakan Hospital.

"Currently, the JA perpetrator has been secured at the Metro Tamansari Police and charged with Article 466 of the Criminal Code regarding abuse to hold him legally accountable," said AKP Egy.

The Metro Tamansari Police also appealed to the public to remain vigilant while carrying out activities and immediately contact the 110 police service if they find potential disturbances to public security and order in their neighborhood.
