Kemensos Auction 6.2 Kg Gold from Prizes Not Taken by Winners

AKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs is auctioning off assets in the form of precious metals and gold jewelry weighing 6.2 kilograms and hundreds of pearl jewelry with a total limit value of more than IDR 10.1 billion, the proceeds of which will be used to help vulnerable families.

Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf said all the valuables were state property from the Unpredictable Gift (HTT) and the Winner's Unclaimed Gift (HTDP) from the Free Lottery (UGB) since 2008.

"These items are collected in accordance with applicable rules and handed over to the Ministry of Social Affairs. The total auction limit value set is IDR 10,176,929,000," said the Ministry of Social Affairs, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 21.

The Ministry of Social Affairs reported that the total valuable commodities auctioned consisted of 738 pieces of precious metals with a total weight of 3,230 grams, 832 pieces of gold jewelry weighing 2,967 grams, and 756 pairs of pearl jewelry.

All funds that have been collected from the results of this open auction will be fully allocated to fund various social welfare programs, especially interventions for vulnerable and prosperous families.

"The results are entirely to help families who really need help, whether it's for building houses so that they are more habitable or business assistance as support so that they can be more economically independent," he emphasized.

The auction process was opened transparently to the public through an online scheme from May 13 until its closure on May 25, 2026 at 14.35 server time for the auction application.

The explanation stage of the auction (aanwijzing) is scheduled to take place on Thursday (21/5) afternoon through a release of a virtual meeting application.

Saifullah hopes that the implementation of this auction can attract the interest of many participants from the public so that the final value of the sale can be boosted beyond the basic limit value, so that the allocation of social assistance funds distributed to the region becomes more optimal.
