CPNS Recruitment Fraud Case, Female ASN Central Kalimantan Provincial Government Arrested

PALANGKA RAYA - The team from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Kalimantan Police arrested a woman with the initials YA (45), who is an ASN of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government. He is suspected of committing fraud in the recruitment of prospective civil servants for the 2019-2020 formation.

Temporary Acting (Pjs) Kanit Subdit I Kamneg AKP Ancas Apta said YES was also immediately detained at the Central Kalimantan Police Headquarters Detention Center since being named a suspect on Monday, June 7

"The suspect deceived Johan Prinata (28), a resident of Gunung Mas Regency by claiming to be able to enter him as a civil servant in the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government. In this case, the victim suffered a loss of Rp. 68 million," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 8.

Prior to the fraud, the victim was introduced to the suspect by his brother-in-law (now deceased).

After receiving information that the suspect could arrange to become an honorary worker at the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, in August 2019 the victim and his family went to the suspect's residence.

At that time the victim was asked for money amounting to Rp. 5 million for the management. After several months later, the victim has not been made a temporary worker according to the suspect's promise.

At that time, the suspect even offered to ask him to enter without the 2019-2020 CPNS test.

"With his persuasion, the victim finally wants and is always asked for money for administrative arrangements and so on so that the total money given, either directly or by transfer, is Rp. 68 million," said Kanit Kamneg.

This case was reported in February 2021. Initially it was only a public complaint (dumas). However, after an investigation and summons to YA, finally the case was raised to a police report (LP).

The suspect is subject to Article 378 regarding fraud in conjunction with Article 372 of the Criminal Code concerning embezzlement with a maximum penalty of 4 years in prison.

"I urge the public to never believe if there are people who are said to be able to arrange entry as a civil servant and honorary by paying. If there is, of course it is a form of fraud," he said.
