JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan attended the 100th anniversary of the birth of Indonesia's second President Suharto at the At-Tin Grand Mosque, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII).

Apart from Anies, a number of important figures also attended this event. Including MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo, and Haikal Hassan.

The event, which was attended by hundreds of worshipers from various regions, was filled with recitation activities starting at 15.30 WIB, Tuesday, June 8.

Anies who was met at the location said that his presence was to pray for the late Suharto. According to Anies, Pak Harto is a leader who shows stability and stability in his leadership.

"Pak Harto is a leader who in leading shows stability, extraordinary mental stability. Calmness in dealing with any situation sends a message to all who are always fatherly," Anies told reporters, Tuesday, June 8.

Anies emphasized that Pak Harto was very instrumental for Indonesia. Suharto, who died on January 27, 2008 at Pertamina Hospital in Jakarta, left many programs that can be felt by the public. These include education and health.

"In the health sector, health centers are being built everywhere, in the field of education, SD Imppres, universities," said Anies.

"We pray that we will continue the nation's struggle. We take lessons and examples from Pak Harto," Anies added.

Finally, he prayed that the late Pak Harto would have a noble place in the sight of Allah SWT. "We pray that Pak Harto will get a noble and exalted place in the sight of God," said Anies.

To note, apart from officials, this haul event was also attended by the children of General Suharto, namely Bambang Trihatmodjo, Titiek Suharto and Siti Hardijanti Rukmana (Tutut Suharto).
