PONTIANAK - The Pontianak SMAN 1 party asked students to refrain from commenting while still prioritizing manners, after the controversy over the West Kalimantan (Kalbar) 4 Pillars Smart and Accurate Competition (LCC) which was considered to be detrimental to the participants of SMAN 1 Pontianak.

In the competition, the participants' scores from SMAN 1 Pontianak were reduced by the jury because they were considered wrong, even though the answers they gave were correct. The recording of the smart competition was also viral on social media and sparked controversy among the public.

"For students at SMAN 1 Pontianak, regarding the problem that is viral, please if you comment, still prioritize manners," wrote the Pontianak SMAN 1, Monday, May 11.

In this controversy, the Pontianak SMAN 1 party found several things that needed attention and clarification, including the similarity of the substance of the answers between the Pontianak SMAN 1 team and the Pontianak SMAN 1 team, but the jury board only justified one party without transparent explanation.

In addition, the lack of focus of the jury board in several moments of assessment has the potential to affect the objectivity of the results.

"There are indications of the use of power relations by the jury board, without being preceded by an adequate confirmation and clarification process. This is strengthened by a one-sided validation through the MC regarding the competence of the jury, so that the activities continue without a proportional settlement," wrote the school.

According to him, the Pontianak SMAN 1 team has delivered a clear and firm answer, so that it deserves an objective assessment according to the substance of the answer.

"Based on these things, we ask the organizers to provide official confirmation regarding the findings, provide a transparent explanation regarding the basis for the jury's decision-making, evaluate the assessment process, in order to maintain the integrity and credibility of the LCC 4 Pillars activities in the future," wrote the SMAN 1 Pontianak party.
