Two people were declared dead due to a flood disaster caused by heavy rainfall since Thursday night (7/5) at several points in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi.

"The victim on behalf of Naima was found dead on his bed, the cause of death we cannot confirm, while Acca (Arsyah) drowned while the victim's father was carrying out self-evacuation. A CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) was carried out but the effort was unsuccessful," he said.
The flood was caused by heavy rain that hit Bone Regency since Thursday (7/5/2026) evening causing several areas to be flooded with water levels ranging from 0.5 to 2 meters.
This condition resulted in dozens of residents being trapped and requiring immediate evacuation. The flood-affected areas include Panyula, in front of the Bone Police, Masumpu Village, Yos Sudarso, Lengkongnge Neighborhood, and Rompe.
The SAR operation involved joint elements from Basarnas, BPBD, Damkar, Satpol PP, Police, Kodim, Brimob, PSC, and local people. Meanwhile, weather monitoring at the scene is still being rained with a temperature ranging from 19-30 degrees Celsius.
