PALEMBANG - The direction of President Prabowo Subianto's development cannot be separated from changes in the world political map. Indonesia, according to the Director of Geopolitics GREAT Institute, Teguh Santosa, should not just watch when global powers move towards a multipolar.
This was conveyed by Teguh in the Communication Development Internship Workshop held by Nexus Digital Strategy at the Prameswara Hall of the Palembang City Government Office, South Sumatra, Monday, May 4, 2026.
"A number of Prabowo's domestic policies are aimed at strengthening Indonesia's horses entering the changed world order," said Teguh.
According to Teguh, the world is entering a new phase. Many countries now want to play a bigger role on the global stage. In such a situation, Indonesia cannot be passive or a sitting duck.
He assessed that the Free Nutritious Meal program, the Red and White Village/Subdistrict Cooperative, and the People's School were part of Prabowo's way of strengthening human resources, welfare, and social justice.
"President Prabowo understands very well that the superiority of the nation-state in the ultimate competition of the world is determined by the quality of human resources who are able to manage natural resources," said Teguh.
Teguh also mentioned that industrialization is an important part of the development strategy. This policy, said Teguh, who is also the Chairman of JMSI, not only targets economic added value, but also employment absorption and strengthening the foundation of the national economy.
However, he reminded that economic development should not ignore the environment. "Don't let various efforts to strengthen the economy ignore the environmental aspect. This development must be sustainable," he said.
Teguh also highlighted the role of young people and content creators. According to the lecturer at UIN Syarif Hidayatulah Jakarta, digital platforms must be a bridge so that development policies can be understood by the public, not just as propaganda material that loses context.
The workshop was attended by around 50 young people and students who are active as content creators on development issues in Palembang, South Sumatra, and nationally.
In addition to Palembang, similar activities were held simultaneously in Medan, Surabaya, Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Balikpapan, and Bali. At the end of the event, Teguh handed over the book "Reunification of Korea: Game Theory" which was taken from his dissertation at Padjadjaran University.
