Jakpro Starts Testing Jakarta LRT Phase 1B, Velodrome Station - Pramuka Market Dites 3.6 Kilometer

PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) (Jakpro) has started the testing and commissioning (T&C) phase of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai route project.

JAKARTA - PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) (Jakpro) has started the testing and commissioning (T&C) phase of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai route project. Initial testing was carried out on the Velodrome track to Pasar Pramuka along 3.6 kilometers.

This stage is a determinant before the new line is actually operated for the public. Jakpro tests various crucial aspects, ranging from the rail line, signaling system, electricity, to operational integration.

Jakpro President Director, Iwan Takwin, emphasized that all processes were carried out strictly to ensure the safety and reliability of the service.

"We are carrying out this T&C phase in detail to ensure that all technical aspects of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B are truly ready and safe for later use by the public in daily mobility," said Iwan in his statement, Monday, May 4.

He emphasized that every detail of construction to the operating system was the full responsibility of the company before the service was opened.

"Every meter on the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B flyover is our responsibility to the people of DKI Jakarta who will rely on the Jakarta LRT every day. Therefore, this T&C stage must be prepared very carefully," he said.

The Jakarta LRT Phase 1B line will connect the eastern area to the city center and be integrated with other modes, including KRL and Transjakarta in Manggarai. After operating, this corridor is projected to be able to carry tens of thousands of passengers every day. The impact, the traffic load on a number of major roads is expected to be reduced.

Apart from mobility, this project is also directed to support Jakarta's target as a global city with a modern and sustainable transportation system.

It is known that the Jakarta LRT phase 1B has a 6.4 kilometer long track layout with 5 stations, namely Pemuda Rawamangun Station, Pramuka BPKP Station, Pramuka Market Station, Matraman Station, and Manggarai Station.

So far, 6 LRT stations have been operating with a length of 5.2 kilometers in phase 1, namely Pegangsaan two, North Boulevard Station, South Boulevard Station, Pulomas Station, Equestrian Station, and Velodrome Station.

If phase 1B has been built, the Jakarta LRT has a route length of 12.2 kilometers with 11 stations from Pegangsaan Dua Station to Manggarai Station.
