Responding to the case of child abuse that occurred at a daycare in Yogyakarta, the government moved quickly to strengthen the child protection system nationally. Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development (Kemendukbangga)/Deputy Head of BKKBN, Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka, emphasized the importance of standardization of childcare through the flagship program TAMASYA (Children's Loving Care Park).
This was conveyed by Isyana in a Ministerial Coordination Meeting regarding the Handling of the Yogyakarta Daycare Case and Strengthening the Child Protection System in Jakarta, Thursday (30/04/2026).
TAMASYA: Safe Parenting Solution for Working Moms
Isyana explained that the TAMASYA program is not just a regular childcare center, but a safe, friendly, and quality holistic childcare service. This program is an answer to the mandate of Law Number 59 of 2024 concerning the RPJPN 2025-2045 which encourages increased female labor participation.
"We want to ensure that working mothers can be productive without worrying. TAMASYA is here to ensure that childcare is done optimally," said Isyana.
Until now, more than 3,300 TAMASYA services have been spread throughout Indonesia. This service is strengthened by the role of KB Guidance and Family Support Team (TPK) in the field.
Advantages of the TAMASYA Program compared to Ordinary Child Care
Unlike conventional landfills, TAMASYA offers a three-pronged approach:
Caregiver Support: Capacity training so that caregivers have competencies that meet standards. Parent Education: Through online classes such as 'TAMASYA in Kerabat' to align parenting patterns at home and in childcare centers. Referral System: Quick response service if a case is found that requires further medical or legal handling. In addition, the Ministry of Finance is currently developing a special digital application to monitor and supervise the quality of TAMASYA services in real time.
Cross-Ministry Synergy: Towards National Standardization
The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Prof. Dr. Pratikno, in the same meeting emphasized the importance of integrating the child care program between ministries so that there is no overlap.
Currently, there are several similar programs that will be synergized, including:
TAMASYA (Kemendukbangga/BKKBN) Sejahtera Care Park (Ministry of Social Affairs) for marginal groups. Happy Care Park (Ministry of PPPA) which focuses on certification. Child Care Park (Kemendikdasmen)."We need to synergize standards and information systems so that these various programs complement each other for the best interests of Indonesian children," said Pratikno.
Through this strengthening of collaboration, the government is optimistic that cases of violence in childcare centers can be prevented systematically. The presence of the state through TAMASYA is expected to be able to create a healthy child growth and development ecosystem, as well as provide a sense of security for Indonesian families.
