JAKARTA - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah reminded Indonesian pilgrims not to pay dam while in Saudi Arabia. Dam payment must be made through Adhahi, the official program of the Saudi Arabian Government.

The warning was delivered when the Ministry of Religion reported the 12th day of the 1447 H/2026 M Hajj operation, which was claimed to have run smoothly.

"Pilgrims who will pay dam in Saudi Arabia are required to use Adhahi. We remind you not to make payments outside the official mechanism, including buying animals in the market," said Head of the Kemenag Public Relations Bureau, Moh. Hasan Afandi, in Jakarta, Friday, May 1.

Hasan said the departure, arrival, and movement of pilgrims from Medina to Mecca were still running orderly. As of May 1, 2026, a total of 175 clusters with 68,082 pilgrims and 697 cluster officers had been sent to the Holy Land.

"We continue to control the entire process so that it runs safely, orderly, and comfortably for the congregation," he said.

The pilgrims who have arrived in Madinah are recorded as 165 clusters, consisting of 64,129 pilgrims and 657 officers. Meanwhile, 19 clusters with 7,387 pilgrims and 76 officers have arrived in Mecca.

The movement from Madinah to Mecca is carried out in stages. Officers are stationed at service points to escort the safety and comfort of the congregation.

In terms of health, 5,576 pilgrims underwent outpatient treatment. A total of 105 pilgrims were referred to the KKHI, 125 pilgrims were referred to the RSAS, and 39 pilgrims are still being treated at the RSAS.

The Ministry of Religion also reported two pilgrims who died in Medina. They are Siti Sri Rahayu Sanusi from the SOC-12 cluster from Pekalongan Regency and Endar Jaya Purwadi from the BPN-01 cluster from Samarinda City. With this addition, the total number of pilgrims who died became seven.

Hasan asked the congregation to maintain their physical condition in the midst of hot weather. The congregation is asked not to carry excessive items, arrange time to go to the Grand Mosque, drink more water, and immediately report to the officers if they experience health problems.

"Our focus is to ensure that pilgrims are protected, that worship is carried out according to regulations, and that all Hajj services take place safely, comfortably, professionally, and are friendly for the elderly, disabled, and women," he said.
