JAKARTA - The government continues to strengthen its commitment to be present in the Leading, Outer, and Lagging Regions (3T). This time, through the Ministry of Population and Family Development (Kemendukbangga)/BKKBN, the country ensures that the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) 3B program reaches the Baduy indigenous people in Lebak Regency, Banten.

This program is focused on ensuring nutritional fulfillment for three priority groups: pregnant women, nursing mothers, and toddlers (3B).

State Present Without Exception in the Indigenous Region

The Minister of Population and Family Development/Head of BKKBN, Dr. Wihaji, S.Ag., M.Pd., emphasized that the absence of formal schools in the Baduy area was not an excuse for the state to be absent in providing health services.

This was conveyed by Wihaji in the SABA BUDAYA activity which coincided with the monitoring of the MBG 3B priority program and the 75th Anniversary of the Indonesian Midwife Association (IBI), Thursday (01/05/2026).

"In fact, in Baduy there are no formal schools, but there are still pregnant women, nursing mothers, and toddlers who need attention. The state is present to ensure that the basic rights of citizens are still met," said Minister Wihaji.

Distribution of Precise Targets Based on Presidential Decree No. 115 of 2025

In accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 115 of 2025 Article 47, the distribution of the MBG program is carried out through family accompaniment. This is aimed at ensuring that direct assistance reaches the most needy targets in the field.

Based on the latest data in Kanekes Village, the target beneficiaries of MBG 3B include:

87 Pregnant Women250 Breastfeeding Mothers906 Non-PAUD Toddlers

This data includes a total of 479 households in Baduy Dalam and 4,317 households in Baduy Luar, which is a crucial basis for the distribution of targeted nutrition assistance.

Respecting the Local Wisdom of the Baduy Community

In a direct dialogue with the customary figures, Minister Wihaji revealed that the Baduy community is very open to this nutritional assistance, provided that it is carried out with an approach that respects their customary rules.

"We will coordinate with the National Nutrition Agency so that the implementation of MBG still respects the culture of local indigenous people," he added.

In addition to distributing nutritious food, this activity also provides simultaneous family planning services and reproductive health education for the Baduy Luar community persuasively.

Banten Provincial Government Support

Deputy Governor of Banten, Dimyati Natakusumah, also gave high appreciation for this initiative. According to him, the priority for the 3B group is a strategic step to improve the quality of maternal and child health in Banten.

"This is a very good program. MBG's main priority should be for pregnant, breastfeeding, and toddler groups," said Dimyati.

Through an adaptive and respectful approach to tradition, the MBG 3B program is expected to be able to reduce stunting rates and improve the nutritional status of the community to the deepest corners of Indonesia.
