Joint Team Chase KKB Member Yahukimo After Shooting Residents in Dekai

JAKARTA - A joint team from the Cartenz Peace Task Force and the Yahukimo Regional Police, Papua Mountains, is still pursuing members of the Kodap XVI Yahukimo Armed Criminal Group (KKB) who shot a resident with the initials RK (29).

Head of Operations of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, Inspector General Faizal Rahmadanimengatakan from the report received, the shooting occurred on Monday (27/4) afternoon when the victim was in his vehicle around Jalan Kurima, Kali Biru Bridge, Dekai.

"The victim, who is an ASN in the environment of the Yahukimo Regency Government, was shot in the neck next to the kiridan from a temporary examination, eight wound points were found, which were suspected to have come from the fragments of the projectile," he said as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 28.

He said the joint team was also conducting an intensive investigation to uncover the perpetrators of the shooting.

"Currently, intensive investigations are being carried out and to provide a sense of security, the task force has also increased patrols and security at a number of vulnerable points," said Faizal.

Currently, the victim of the KKB shooting has been evacuated to Jayapura to receive further medical treatment.

Faizal also asked the public to remain vigilant and actively maintain environmental security by immediately reporting important information to security personnel.
