Residents Of Mestong Jambi Catch Crocodiles In Sungai Penerokan

JAMBI - Residents of Tanjung Pauh Village, Mestong District, Muarojambi Regency caught a crocodile in the Panerokan River measuring 1.5 meters. The crocodiles will be handed over to the Jambi BKSDA.

The crocodile has been lifted from the river and its mouth is tied with a rope. The crocodile was secured in Tanjung Pauh Village KM 39, Mestong District, Muarojambi Regency.

The arrest took place at around 3 p.m. this afternoon. Ja'far, a resident of Tanjung Pauh, who was the first to find the crocodile, said he was setting up a fishing rod or fishing rod to catch fish in the Penerokan River. But not the fish that Ja'far got but the baby crocodile.

"I'm installing the tajur toman fish, I thought the fish was picked up by the buayo," said Ja'far in the local language quoted by Antara, Monday, June 7.

After that he immediately called the locals. With the help of other residents, he lifted the calf to the mainland and currently the 1.5 meter calf has been brought to the residents' house. Crocodiles become a spectacle of local residents.

"Now the crocodile is in one of the residents' houses and also many residents have come to see it. The crocodile's mouth has been tied while waiting for help to come from related parties," said Ja'far.

Meanwhile, officials from Tanjung Pauh Village Km 39, Mestong Muaro Jambi, Taryuni MT said they had contacted the Jambi BKSDA.

"Earlier, the BKSDA has contacted and will immediately coordinate to secure the crocodile cub," Taryuni said.
