JAKARTA - Hajj pilgrims who are carrying out the Hajj can use the Kawal Haji application as a media for reporting obstacles in a unified manner while in the Holy Land. This was conveyed by the Head of the Integrated Hajj Computerization System (Siskohat) of the Hajj Office of the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah Ali Sadikin.

According to Ali, the application serves as a container for pilgrims and officers to report various needs for the implementation of Hajj services quickly.

"Pilgrims can report on several services, for example consumption, accommodation, transportation, missing people, lost items, health information, guidance for worship, and other things related to Hajj operations," said Ali in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, quoting ANTARA on Sunday, April 26.

Ali explained that the Kawal Haji application carries the concept of crowdsourcing, where all incoming reports can be monitored directly by pilgrims and officers without going through a screening process from the admin so that communication runs in both directions.

"The system is transparent. Everyone can report and respond. So, not only officers can answer, but also pilgrims who have valid information and are very helpful for other pilgrims can also provide information there," said Ali.

The presence of the Hajj Officer is considered to strengthen and integrate inter-officer services. When pilgrims convey obstacles outside the scope of the officers they encounter in the field, the report can be forwarded to the Kawal Haji application so that it can be immediately followed up by officers in the relevant field.

Regarding accessibility, Ali emphasized that pilgrims and officers do not need to download this application through the Play Store or App Store. Kawal Haji is built using Progressive Web Application (PWA) technology to relieve the burden on the pilgrims' device memory, given its use is only periodic.

"Kawal Haji can be accessed via a browser at alamatkawal.haji.go.id, both on Android, iOS, and desktop devices. Later, each user can add the application to the main screen of their device," said Ali.
