Viral Ustaz Abdul Somad Fiery Condemns Hajj Fund Used To Build Infrastructure: Later Demanded Before Allah SWT

JAKARTA - The lecture of the famous Ustaz Abdul Somad recently went viral. One of them was shared by the Twitter account, @narkosun, Monday, June 7th. In the video, Ustaz Abdul Somad can be seen furiously criticizing the cancellation of the pilgrims who went on the pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

UAS - Abdul Somad's nickname - alleges that the money belonging to the congregation was then used by the government for infrastructure development.

"There is no money used for Hajj funds, Muslims are noisy, Muslims are raging, we pay for Hajj to go for Hajj, not our money to be used to build roads, invest! Go berserk! Stop, that's the test. keep quiet," said UAS vehemently in the video.

According to UAS, be careful the officials who have authority in this matter. At some point, this act will be held accountable before Allah SWT.

"Those who have positions, those who have power, who have signatures, you will be prosecuted before Allah SWT. Please become governors, so mayors please become presidents, you only have 2 terms but your reckoning in the afterlife will last forever, right? "

"That's right," answered the congregation to UAS.

Not only officials, UAS lectures also targeted Ustaz who were silent in seeing this situation. One day, the reckoning of the clerics will also be asked in front of Allah SWT.

"Later, the ustaz who are silent, who don't want to talk, who only invite people to pray, invite people to tahajjud, invite people to pray. UAS said.

Hajj Funds Don't Burn

In the Decree of the Minister of Religion (KMA) No. 660 of 2021 concerning Cancellation of Departure of Hajj Pilgrims at the Organizing of Hajj in 1442 H/2021 AD.

In the KMA, it is emphasized that prospective pilgrims who cancel their departure can withdraw the deposit for the payment of Hajj Travel Expenses (Bipih) that has been paid. This means that the hajj funds are still there and are not forfeited or intended for infrastructure development.

"Prospective hajj pilgrims cancel leaving this year and have paid Bipih, can apply for a refund of the payment deposit," said Secretary of the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah (Sesditjen PHU) Ramadan Harisman, in Jakarta, Friday, June 4.

"Even though the payment is taken, the congregation does not lose its status as prospective pilgrims who will depart in 1443 H/2022 AD," he continued.

The Head of the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) Anggito Abimanyu said the same thing. Anggito emphasized that the money of the pilgrims whose pilgrimage departures were delayed was still parked safely in Islamic banks.

"We need to emphasize that all the funds we manage are safe," said Anggito at a press conference, Thursday, June 3.

"We invest these funds and place them in Islamic banks with safe sharia principles," he added.
