JAKARTA - The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies are likely to remain tight until the end of 2027 due to disruptions and infrastructure damage caused by the US-Israeli war against Iran.

"The combined effect of short-term supply losses and slower capacity growth could result in cumulative losses of around 120 billion cubic meters of LNG supply between 2026 and 2030," the Paris-based agency said in a new report, Friday, April 24, quoted by Al Jazeera.

The IEA emphasized that global LNG flow instability would continue to occur even though the release of energy reserves affected by the global energy crisis had been carried out by a number of parties.

"Although new liquefaction projects in other regions are expected to offset these losses over time, the impact will extend tight markets into 2026 and 2027," the IEA continued.
