JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Unit (Satpol PP) Satriadi Gunawan apologized regarding the viral video showing a red-plated car parked on the sidewalk, in front of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP office.

"We apologize for the inconvenience experienced by the public regarding patrol vehicles parked on the sidewalk," said Satriadi in Jakarta, Thursday.

According to him, public confidence should be built by setting a good example, not just a call.

For this reason, Satriadi ensured that the members involved had been summoned and given sanctions.

He also emphasized that the incident was used as a material for evaluation so that it would not be repeated in the future.

"The members concerned have been summoned by the leadership, given guidance and a warning letter as a form of evaluation," said Satriadi.

Previously, in a video uploaded by an Instagram account, a black Isuzu Panther pickup truck was parked on the sidewalk, which should have been the right of pedestrians.

The video recorder, namely Ijoel, approached the Satpol PP officer who was on duty at the front gate of the building to find out the owner of the vehicle.

Ijoel had intended to deflate the vehicle's tires, but he gave up after seeing the response of the officers who seemed confused.

Not long after, one of the officers called his colleague from inside the office. The officer who came then explained that the parking area inside the office was full because there was a meeting, so the vehicle had to be parked outside.

However, Ijoel considered that the reason could not justify the violation of the use of the sidewalk.
