JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) asked the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) to empower local food to reduce the surge in the price of certain raw materials.
Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, emphasized that his party chose a flexible approach in preparing the MBG menu, by adjusting the potential of local resources and community preferences in each region.
"Because we want to empower the potential of local resources and the preferences of local people, so that the pressure on their consumption is not too high. If we order the national menu, the pressure will be high, the price will go up," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 23.
He conveyed his experience during the celebration of President Prabowo Subianto's birthday on October 17, 2025, where SPPG standardized the fried rice menu complete with eggs as the MBG menu.

"There are eggs, chicken meat, beef, and fish. For example, if this is cooked beef, then it takes 350 kilograms to cook once, which means one cow. This is the importance of eating nutritious so that the catch is good. So, one time cooking beef needs 382 (kg), that means one cow, the meat alone," said Dadan.
