Grandpa In Banyuwangi Arrested For Rape Grandson 5 Times

BANYUWANG - Police arrested a grandfather with the initials SBU (61) for raping his step-granddaughter. Perpetrators have done bad things 5 times.

According to the police, the perpetrators always threatened to kill the victim if they reported their actions.

"The suspect covered the victim's mouth and said he would kill her and the victim's mother if she did this (reported)", said Banyuwangi Police Chief Kombes Arman Asmara Syarifuddin, Monday, June 7.

This case was revealed after the victim's mother became suspicious of her daughter who was getting quieter. The victim's mother then asked the victim to tell the story. Finally, the victim told that her step-grandfather raped her.

Disappointed, the victim's mother finally reported this case to the police on May 17. After receiving the report and obtaining sufficient evidence, the police arrested the suspect at his home.

To the police, the perpetrator admitted his actions. The perpetrator also admitted to threatening the victim. In this case, SBU was charged with Article 285 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 12 years in prison.
