The Secretary of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of East OKU Dewa MS said that the body of the victim, who was a junior high school student in the local area, was found at around 07.48 WIB.
The victim who was reported to have drowned while bathing in the Komering River was found floating in the waters of the Tanjung Aman Village area, Martapura District, or about 1.7 kilometers from the location where the first victim was reported to have drowned.
"Alhamdulillah on this third day of search, it yielded results. The victim was found dead," he said in Martapura, Antara, Thursday, April 23.
He explained that the search operation involved a joint SAR team from the East OKU BPBD and Basarnas and was assisted by the surrounding community.
The search process was carried out by a joint team using a motor-powered rubber boat to follow the Komering River so that the victim could be found immediately.
"The body of the victim has been evacuated to the funeral home to be handed over to the family," he said.
With the discovery of the victim, the SAR operation was declared complete and all elements involved were returned to their respective units.
