JAKARTA - Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited the Timika Education Center boarding school in Mimika, Central Papua.

The Head of School (Kepsek) of SMA Negeri 5 Sentra Pendidikan Martinus Wenda in Timika, Tuesday, said the visit was a special momentum and became the happiness of the Mimika Education Center family.

The Education Center is a boarding school-based education center ranging from elementary, middle, and high school levels, which was built by the Mimika Regency Government in 2010.
The construction of the school is to support education for the Amungme and Kamoro tribes as well as five related tribes, namely the Dani, Damal, Mee, Nduga, and Moni tribes.
"If the total number of students from elementary school to high school I don't know. But for high school alone, the number of students is 541 students and 14 study groups," he said.
