Iran has a 'new card' ready to play if it goes to war with the US again

JAKARTA - The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf admitted that Iran has a "new card" to play on the battlefield if a conflict with the US-Israel occurs again.

"We do not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats," the man, who is also a member of the Iranian delegation in peace talks with the US in Islamabad, said via his X account, Tuesday, April 21.

Trump wants to turn this negotiating table into a surrender table or incite a new war by imposing a blockade and violating the ceasefire. We do not accept negotiations under the shadow of threat and have been preparing for the past two weeks to turn over new cards on the battlefield.

The two-week ceasefire between Iran and the US ended on Wednesday night, April 22.

US President Donald Trump has said it is "highly unlikely" to extend the ceasefire and threatened to resume bombing if an agreement is not reached before the deadline.

"In the last two weeks we have been preparing to show a new card on the battlefield," he continued.

Iran is known to have not yet decided to come to the second round of peace talks in Islamabad although Trump told the New York Post yesterday that the US delegation was on its way to Pakistan.
